Celebrating the Spirit of Giving

At St Martins Care, the festive season is not just about tinsel and twinkling lights; it's about spreading warmth, love, and joy to everyone, including those who may not have anyone to share Christmas with.

Loneliness during the holidays is a concern for many, so the staff at St Martins Care are committed to ensuring that none of our residents feel isolated this Christmas time. We will go the extra mile to actively involve each resident in every aspect of the Christmas celebrations.

Christmas wouldn't be complete without gifts, so this year we are determined to ensure that every resident receives at least one special gift.

To make this initiative a success, we are actively encouraging family members to participate in fundraising efforts. We will also reach out to local and national businesses, appealing for their support in spreading holiday cheer at St Martins Care.

The heartwarming gift tag tree

Last year, Willow Green introduced the Gift Tag Tree, an initiative that touched the hearts of many.

This simple yet powerful idea allowed anyone visiting the care home to pick a tag. These tags represented individual residents and their Christmas gift wishes.

The response was overwhelming - every tag was claimed, and more and more people joined in with generous gift donations. The event was not limited to just family visitors, but also included external visitors, such as district nurse teams, community matrons, and social workers.

The results were amazing, with the entire community coming together to ensure that our residents could enjoy the festivities. The event was not just confined within the care home's walls; it was widely shared on social media, including Facebook. Local charity Eastbourne Hub also joined hands with St Martins Care and got involved in this incredible act of giving.

Recreating the magic

This year, we are thrilled to announce the return of our heartwarming Christmas event, and we're eager to make the upcoming holiday season even more special for our residents. As we prepare to bring the magic of the season to life, we invite you to join us in this wonderful event. Stay tuned for updates on how you can get involved and become a part of this incredible journey, making a positive impact in the lives of those who may need it the most.

Let's celebrate the spirit of giving and make this Christmas a little brighter for everyone!

Look out for our gifting tree on your next visit!
