A Look Back at 2024-25 at St Martins Care

As we look back at the last financial year, we took some statistics that we want to share, as they prove messages we’re proud of.

At St Martins Care, the people in our homes and the people who help support them in the homes are at the heart of everything we do. These aren’t just numbers to us, they tell the story of a year filled with care, compassion, and community.

A place to feel safe, recover and thrive

Last year, 439 people chose to live in a St Martins Care home. For some, it was a short-term stay to recover after a hospital visit. For others, it was a new chapter where they could feel safe, supported, and surrounded by friendly faces.

And here's something we think is great to note: of the people who opted to leave our homes last year, 60% of them left to return home or to another care option (like home care). We think this is a great reminder that care can look different for everyone, and it can be used as a route to regain independence and assess the best for a resident’s wellbeing.

A team that grows together

Behind every warm meal, kind word, and moment of care is a team member who truly cares. In 2024-25, 72% of the people who joined our team are still with us today. That means continuity of care, familiar faces, and strong bonds with residents.

In fact, 117 members of our team have been with us for over five years, and 68% of our team have been with us for at least one year. Longevity like this matters. It helps us build trusting relationships with residents and their families, and it means our team grows in experience, confidence, and kindness.

Investing in what matters most

We reinvested over £476,000 into our care homes this year, improving environments, updating equipment, and ensuring the spaces where our residents live and our team work continue to be welcoming, safe, and homely.

We’ve also gone fully digital with our care plans, helping us spend less time on paperwork and more time with the people who matter most. We’re rolling out digital medication systems and improving our recruitment tools too, these are small changes that make a big difference day to day.

For the third year in a row, we paid 25% of our profits back to our people in the form of a bonus. It’s our way of saying thank you, not just for doing the job, but for doing it with heart, and helping St Martins Care succeed.

Looking ahead

The numbers may change next year, but our purpose won’t. Whether someone’s with us for a short stay or a longer chapter of their life, our aim is always the same: to make every day a little brighter, safer, and more fulfilling for residents, families, and our team.
