Meet the Manager: Donna Jones
Windermere Grange has that homely feel as soon as you walk in. I want that to continue whilst delivering the kindest care possible.
A Career Built in Care
Donna has been employed by St Martins Care since January 2018. She initially joined on a temporary basis to support the manager at the time and remains with the organisation today as the Home Manager.
Donna’s career path has always been in care. After leaving school, she joined a youth training scheme which involved “calling in” on older people. This could mean stopping by for a cuppa and a chat or taking someone to the local shop for a few bits and bobs, something she really enjoyed.
Following this experience, Donna went on to study health and social care at college.
Progressing Through the Sector
Donna’s career in social care formally began in 2009 when she started working as a Care Assistant. After her children grew up, she was proud to continue her studies, completing an Access to Nursing course along with her NVQ Level 2, Level 3 and Level 5.
These qualifications helped her progress in her career and provided her with the experience and knowledge to reach her current role today. Donna is a great example of how care assistants can progress to a Registered Manager position with the right support.
Looking Ahead at Windermere Grange
When asked about her plans for Windermere Grange, Donna says: “Windermere Grange has that homely feel as soon as you walk in. I want that to continue whilst delivering the kindest care possible.”
